The Chinese grant of the 70% of the school uniform requirement for the 2023 school year was completed with the arrival of the final stock of the uniform material. Previously, 1/3rd of the uniform material was sent to Sri Lanka, and in the second phase, the remaining 2/3rd was provided.

Chinese Ambassador Mr. Qi Zhenghong handed over the remaining stock of the uniform material to Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha at the Ministry of Education today.

The Minister said that with this donation, the Gove ment expects to expedite the distribution of uniform material, which has already commenced, and to complete the distribution process before the start of the next school term.

The uniform material is distributed among students in Gove ment schools, Gove ment-approved schools and the monks studying at Pirivena.
